The Korea Indie Game Association officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with WithPeople Law Firm on the 15th.

Through this partnership, both parties aim to bolster the legal stability of game companies, including association members, while fostering industry growth. The collaboration focuses on legal support, dispute prevention, contract reviews, compliance consulting, and joint educational campaigns.

Furthermore, they plan to conduct joint seminars, host roundtable discussions, share vital information on industry-wide legal issues, and launch initiatives to improve accessibility to legal services.

According to the Korea Indie Game Association, domestic game developers remain structurally vulnerable to the unfair commission policies of global platform giants. The association described this MOU as a practical first step to minimize legal risks and cultivate a sustainable environment for creative work.

The association added that this agreement provides concrete support allowing developers to focus on creation without legal burdens, noting that the Korea Indie Game Association intends to respond firmly on behalf of the industry regarding in-app payment commission issues.

WithPeople Law Firm stated that as legal complexities within the gaming industry continue to escalate, expert intervention has become essential.
