Mabinogi Mobile, which launched back in March and has been enjoying a steady run, is set to connect with its player base through a live broadcast this August. Given that the community has been vocal about a lack of communication from the development team since the official service began, the real question is whether this broadcast will serve as a turning point to mend those fences.

Director Lee Jin-hoon of Mabinogi Mobile teased the upcoming broadcast via a developer note posted on the official website on July 31st. Director Lee stated, "We are working hard to ensure we can share some clearer changes and welcome news with you all."

The developer also pulled back the curtain on upcoming content, starting with the Abyss. The current Math Abyss is reaching its conclusion with the addition of Hell stages 6 and 7. Stage 6 introduces more intricate and punishing boss patterns, while stage 7 demands an impeccable performance—no revivals allowed. That said, Director Lee has framed stage 7 as a pure challenge, keeping the weekly rewards identical to those of stage 6.

Next up is the Bari Dungeon Abyss. Director Lee Jin-hoon noted, "Once the Bari Abyss update lands, Math Abyss will be retired." Director Lee added, "Current 'Abyss Very Hard' completion achievements will remain intact after the Math Abyss concludes and can continue to be earned in the Bari Abyss." Additionally, mid-August will see the 'Chance Encounter' system arrive for both Math Abyss and raids, an automated matchmaking feature that pairs players who enter the same dungeon, even without a pre-formed party.

A new farming element, the 'Circular Rune', is also slated for August. These special runes, which embody the fundamental essence of Legendary Runes, come with slightly buffed base stats. Director Lee explained, "We are carefully balancing these to ensure they don't spiral out of control, keeping the value of existing runes in mind." Notably, these can only be obtained through dungeon farming—not via synthesis or selection boxes—and feature a subtle glow around the edges to make them easily identifiable.

Mid-August will also introduce a new support mechanic, the 'Hero Buff.' If every member of a party falls in a high-difficulty dungeon, this buff temporarily kicks in to keep the fight alive. Other additions include a new 'Moonlight Werewolf' event and a handy 'Quick Organize' feature, allowing players to sort through essential supplies and materials with a single tap.

Class balance is also on the agenda. In August, the team plans to tweak the damage output of underperforming classes and those with healing capabilities to ensure everyone has a seat at the table. Moving into September, the Frost Mage and Warrior classes will receive 'Break Extend,' a buff designed to prolong break windows. The design goal here is to stabilise the rhythm of combat and ensure each class has a distinct, meaningful role to play.
