XD Inc. (hereinafter XD) announced on the 6th that it has signed a domestic publishing deal for 'Blue Protocol: Star Resonance' (hereinafter Star Resonance), currently in development by Shanghai Bokura Technology.

Star Resonance is a new MMORPG based on the Japanese subculture title 'Blue Protocol', which ended its service this past January. While Blue Protocol was initially tipped as a highly anticipated subculture-infused MMORPG, a lack of content and optimization issues saw players leaving, leading to the announcement of its closure last August. Consequently, the planned domestic release by Smilegate also fell through.

Star Resonance is built upon 'PROJECT SKY BLUE', a joint venture between Bandai Namco Entertainment and Bandai Namco Studios, just like the original. The narrative follows a world that once enjoyed peaceful days following the departure of the Bafaria deities, only to face civilizational collapse at the hands of a 'third race' born from the shadows.

Players will choose from 6 distinct classes and 12 combat styles to embark on a quest to thwart this third race. Along the way, players can cooperate with allies to hunt massive bosses or engage in various life-sim content such as gathering, fishing, and mining. A variety of mounts, including horses, robots, and charming monsters, will also be featured.

Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is scheduled for a PC and mobile release later this year.
