The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA) are accepting applications for the 'Content IP Xcelerate in Singapore' programme starting from the 27th.

Organised by KOCCA's Singapore Business Centre, this initiative aims to support the global expansion of domestic content firms. By fostering collaboration with overseas investors and local entities, the agency hopes to build a sustainable industrial ecosystem. Participating companies will have the opportunity to secure investment, explore co-production, and forge strategic partnerships leveraging their intellectual property (IP).

The programme is open to companies that own or manage content IP and are looking at Singapore as a gateway for international growth and investment. It will run for two months through November, split into online and offline phases. Participants are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, with entry confirmed following a suitability review.

The online segment kicks off with one-on-one business diagnostics to verify Product-Market Fit (PMF) and develop international expansion strategies. Should the need arise, the programme provides access to local experts for consulting on incorporation, legal matters, and marketing, alongside business matchmaking to facilitate market entry and investment.

The offline programme is set to take place in Singapore from November 17 to 21. A total of 12 companies, selected from the online cohort, will be invited to participate. The schedule includes a showcase for investment pitching and networking with key local stakeholders, complemented by tailored one-on-one on-site consultations.

Investment support will be handled by Libeara and Fintra, both platforms specialising in IP tokenisation. Furthermore, global investors with a keen interest in Korean content, such as Pinetree Securities, The Wolfpack, and Burda Principal Investments, have joined as partners.

In line with the recent surge in virtual assets and tokenisation, KOCCA's Singapore Business Centre signed an MOU with Libeara on August 25. Libeara, a platform under the Standard Chartered Bank umbrella, will assist in the push to establish a strategic fund for domestic content.

Park Sang-wook, Director of KOCCA's Singapore Business Centre, stated that the programme serves as a vital stepping stone for Korean content firms to achieve sustainable global growth based on their IP. The director added that the agency intends to capitalise on Singapore's position as a bridge between Asia and the global market to expand investment opportunities and strengthen ties with local partners.
