While topping the charts right out of the gate happens occasionally, it is still a massive achievement; it simply proves that the pre-launch hype was far from just hot air.

Vampir has had a blistering start. Within eight hours of launch, it claimed the top spot on the Apple App Store revenue charts, and by the end of the first week, it had surpassed 200,000 Concurrent Players. A flurry of in-game events and collaboration campaigns seems to have added serious fuel to the fire, driving search volume even higher.

The title itself is an MMORPG centered around vampire lore and a dark fantasy medieval world. It supports both mobile and PC platforms and launched with 10 worlds and 30 servers. Due to the massive influx of users, the developers have already had to expand with new worlds.

Looking at this week’s search volume, it hasn't completely left the runner-up, 'Roblox', in the dust—it hasn't quite achieved a total monopoly just yet. However, since search metrics typically trend upward for two to three weeks post-launch, it is highly likely that Vampir will hold onto the No. 1 spot throughout September, provided there are no major mishaps. The real question is how things will look after October, so we will be watching closely to see if it can build a foundation for long-term success.

With the arrival of Vampir, the mobile chart has seen a general downward trend. Even in the Top 10, every title except for the fourth-place 'Yulgang: Return' has slipped one or two spots. The trend persists outside the Top 10, though the absence of any free-falling titles suggests the chart might be reaching a state of stability.

The risers showed a similar pattern. Aside from 'Wuthering Waves' and 'Lineage W', there is little to report. Both are currently benefiting from update-related momentum, and it is safe to assume they will maintain this steady performance for a while longer.

In short, the mobile chart looks set to remain a bit chaotic for the rest of September. Starting with Vampir this week, several highly anticipated titles are slated for release throughout the month. We already have 'The Starlight', 'Goddess Order', 'The King of Fighters AFK', and 'Aetheria: Restart' on the horizon, and there is always a chance for surprise announcements, making the end of the third quarter of 2025 quite a busy period.

Online – POE 2 Jumps Forward with the Third Edict

As we touched upon last week, 'Path of Exile 2' has maintained its upward momentum, largely driven by the 'Third Edict'. Launched on August 30, it introduced Act 4, an asynchronous trading system, and new bosses, providing a much-needed feast for players who had been starving for new content.

Following the introduction of the Third Edict, search volume for Path of Exile 2 surged. Consequently, it climbed an impressive 12 spots in the online category—a segment known for its entrenched search demographics. While it has not reached the absolute peak, such a rapid ascent is rare and genuinely impressive. It is also posting strong numbers in other metrics, such as PC Bang usage time.

The impact of this leap is expected to persist for some time, as the sheer volume of new features has successfully recaptured players' interest. However, if there are no follow-up movements after this, that interest could just as quickly evaporate. I am certainly curious to see what the developers have in store to keep the momentum going until the official release.

In the Top 10, the battle for the 4th to 7th positions remains fierce. 'Lost Ark' and 'Sudden Attack' came out on top this week. Of course, the competition is far from over, so we will need to keep monitoring this tug-of-war.

However, the mood around 'Lost Ark' is slightly different. It has created a decent gap between itself and the fifth-place 'Dungeon & Fighter'. Search volume has been on the rise since the update for the Kazeros Raid. If it can keep this trend alive, it might soon start threatening the third-place 'MapleStory'.

Steam – Super Robot Wars Y Debuts at No. 5

If the mobile chart had Vampir, the Steam section saw 'Super Robot Wars Y' make its mark, landing in 5th place in its first week. It has certainly asserted its presence among some heavy hitters. As the first new entry in the series for quite some time, it successfully stoked fan anticipation, and with its August 28 release, high search volume was only natural.

However, early impressions are split. By the afternoon of August 28, the reviews were 'Mixed (62% positive)'. While players enjoyed the variety of mechs, there were complaints regarding the need for interface improvements. Minor issues like key binding limitations and resolution caps were also pointed out.

By September 3, about a week after launch, the sentiment had improved to 'Mostly Positive (76% positive)'. Given that the launch hype is still in full swing, it looks likely to climb even higher next week. It is currently neck-and-neck with the fourth-place 'Eternal Return', while there is a significant gap to the third-place 'Peak'. Unless Eternal Return gets a boost, the narrative for next week will likely be Super Robot Wars Y taking the fourth spot and then attempting a run at the Top 3.

Another August release, 'Titan Quest 2', is also cruising along. In the first week of September, it rose three spots to claim 15th place. It has been steadily climbing since its debut on the Steam charts, and I am curious to see if it can break into the Top 10.

Pre-orders – Ranking Up with Official Release Dates!

Three games featuring the 'NEW' tag appeared on this week's chart: 'Duet Night Abyss', 'Starlight', and 'Aetheria: Restart'. Excluding Starlight, the other two games announced their release dates—October 28 and September 25, respectively—leading to a spike in search traffic. With a dedicated base of gamers already interested before pre-orders even opened, these titles will likely make a significant splash once service begins.

The top spot, vacated by Vampir, was filled as expected by 'The Starlight'. Meanwhile, 'Goddess Order' took 2nd and 'R2 Origin' took 3rd, rounding out the top three. Given the decent gap between the 3rd and 4th positions, the current hierarchy is likely to remain stable until these games officially launch.
