SEGA Publishing Korea is hosting a closed beta for 'Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage' (hereinafter Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.), which is slated for release on October 30. The testing phase runs from the 11th through the 16th.

This session focuses on cross-platform online matches across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC (Steam). Interestingly, you won't need an active subscription to the online services of these platforms to jump into the fray. You must register for a Sega Account and link it to the platform account of your choice to participate.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. marks a new entry in the iconic 3D fighting series. It supports cross-play across platforms and features rollback netcode to keep things snappy.

The 'World Stage' mode takes centre stage here, simulating tournaments from around the globe. The CPU even mimics real-world legendary players to keep you on your toes. Naturally, it includes a robust replay feature to study your mistakes and a training mode to sharpen your skills.

Pre-ordering nets you the 'Genesis' customisation item, a nod to classic Sega hardware. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 'Virtua Fighter' franchise, a special '30th Anniversary Edition' is also on the horizon, packed with a commemorative swimwear costume, an art book, and the official soundtrack.

The Standard Edition is priced at 21,600 KRW, while the 30th Anniversary Edition will set you back 54,800 KRW. While the game is designed for 1 or 2 players, online rooms support up to 16 combatants. If a host decides to sit out as a spectator, the room capacity bumps up to 17.

Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. is headed to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC (Steam), and Nintendo Switch 2. While the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC versions arrive on October 30, the release date for the Nintendo Switch 2 version remains a mystery.
