Steam’s storefront just got a bit more accessible. On the 24th, Valve officially rolled out a major overhaul of its store menu, streamlining everything from top-level categories to the search function.

Valve has been planning this menu overhaul since the client beta back in July. After two months of testing, it finally went live on September 24. Gone is the cluttered left-hand sidebar; instead, the links have been integrated into a top menu bar. The menu bar features tabs for Search, Recommended, Categories, Hardware, Play Modes, and Special Sections.

The Search tab lets you filter by popularity, release date, price, and discounts. Over in Recommended, you will find a curated queue based on your playtime, purchase history, and friend activity. The Categories tab organizes titles by genre and tags, while Hardware and Play Modes handle compatibility for things like Steam Deck, VR, and local or multiplayer setups. The Special Section is your go-to for DLC, demos, sales events, Steam Next Fest, and the Steam Awards.

The search panel itself has also been improved. Previously, it was a basic keyword box, but now it suggests trending titles, keeps track of your recent searches, and allows for filtering by genre, tags, or even specific publishers. With the UI cleaned up, the game pages themselves now boast larger, more prominent images and videos.

Moving to the charts, Silent Hill f has hit the top spot in the global top sellers list following its early access launch, currently holding a 'Very Positive' rating. Meanwhile, Dead by Daylight has climbed to fifth place after dropping its latest DLC featuring the new killer, The Unknown, and survivor, Sable Ward.

In the daily peak Concurrent Players top 20, Path of Exile 2 has slipped to 13th place with 109,427 players—a steady decline since its peak. After hitting 350,000 during its launch patch, the player base has dropped by roughly 70% in just four weeks. Conversely, Dead by Daylight saw its numbers swell to 79,394 thanks to that new DLC.
