Hades II, which earned a warm welcome upon its full release, has finally unveiled its first patch featuring a series of improvements to the ending.

Following its surprise Early Access launch last May, Hades II officially hit the shelves on September 26. The game is currently holding a 'Very Positive' rating (94% positive) on Steam, with many players noting that it builds upon its predecessor's success with even more refinement.

On the 24th, the developers teased the first post-launch patch, which includes an overhauled true ending, a feature to roll back story progression, adjusted pacing for epilogue-related prophecies, reduced costs for decorations, and a suite of balance tweaks.

First, the true ending is getting a significant polish. Expect new events, expanded post-ending narratives, and additional cinematic flair for key moments. You will, of course, need to clear the game to witness these changes. Furthermore, a new rollback feature will allow you to revisit earlier story states to re-experience these crucial events.

The 'Prophecies'—those high-difficulty challenges found in your Fated List of Minor Prophecies—are being tuned to feel less like a chore. Key events will now take priority, and the requirements to trigger them have been relaxed. Additionally, the Wretched Broker is lowering his prices for cosmetics, and any excess Renown you’ve already spent will be refunded.

Beyond that, a host of Boons, Blessings, and Daedalus Hammer upgrades are receiving buffs, while several boss hitboxes and abilities have been fine-tuned. Expect the usual array of bug fixes and some quality-of-life improvements to level design and environmental effects.

You can jump into these changes right now via the Steam Beta branch. Just head to the Hades II properties page in your library, select the 'Beta' tab, and opt into the 'Preview' branch. The developers have warned that you might encounter more technical hiccups than usual, so do yourself a favour and back up your save files.
