On November 13th, the latest legend to grace 'The King of Fighters AFK' (hereinafter KOF AFK) arrived in the form of Rugal Bernstein. Along with his debut, the developers have rolled out a suite of quality-of-life improvements and fresh content, including new console skill packs, a treasure vault system, enhanced fighter awakening bonuses, and expanded stage limits.

Rugal Bernstein steps in as a Star-attribute Wedge Synergy fighter. His passive, 'Merchant of Death,' boosts his max HP when placed in the front row and hits all enemies with an attack reduction debuff at the start of battle. His active skill, 'Dark Barrier,' grants a two-turn defense buff to allies in his same row, while his finishing move, 'Dead End Screamer,' provides a two-turn 'Exhilaration' buff to allies in other rows, increasing their finish skill damage.

To celebrate the arrival of Rugal, KOF AFK is launching a commemorative event. Players can collect tokens through daily missions to exchange for Wedge Synergy fighter summon tickets and Rugal Bernstein pickup tickets. Looking ahead, a 'Secret Agent' event is set to run from November 20th to December 3rd, giving players a chance to snag the Wedge legend pet 'Rukaru' and the new pet 'Agent A.'

Three new skill packs—'Frozen Wild,' 'Solar Tree,' and 'Rainbow Stars'—have been added for your console. 'Frozen Wild' deals fixed damage and applies debuffs to all enemies exclusively in the main stage, while 'Solar Tree' provides a team-wide buff for basic, elite, and challenge dungeons. 'Rainbow Stars' offers multi-hit damage and debuffs to random targets in main stages and dungeons. You can pick these up at the Club Battle shop for 40,000 Honor Medals each.

The new 'Treasure Vault' system lets you collect and level up items to boost your account's combat stats. It opens once you hit 12 days post-server launch and clear stage 2,600. You'll find these treasures in the 'Treasure Chests' awarded for daily Infinity Challenge goals. By using duplicates as upgrade fodder, you can level up these items to further amplify their stat bonuses.

Awakening tiers have also received a buff. KOF AFK now features a system where your account growth is tied to the number of legend-grade options you possess. Once you hit three or more, you unlock new stats including Combo Double Damage, Combo Double Chance, Combo Chance Resistance, and Combo Damage Resistance.

Rounding out the update are various quality-of-life tweaks, including expanded main stage and content caps, plus extra daily rewards for the Infinity Challenge.
