'Hytale', which had its development halted last June, is back in production.

The news was announced on the 18th via the official Hypixel website. Hypixel, the original creators of Hytale, have reacquired the project from Riot Games and plan to continue development with over 30 original developers and additional new hires.

Hypixel founder Simon Collins-Laflamme explained, "The reaction from the community after our June announcement was intense. It was a difficult decision, but as soon as we saw the community's response, we pushed to reacquire the project."

Hytale is a sandbox RPG that has been in development at Hypixel Studios since 2015. As a new title from the studio that built the largest server for Minecraft, it garnered significant attention from its initial announcement. With its blocky world, building, farming, mining, and combat mechanics, it is often referred to as the 'second Minecraft'.

Hypixel Studios continued to share development updates even after being acquired by Riot Games in 2020. However, in June, the studio announced the cancellation of the project and the closure of the studio, citing that they could not reach the level required to support the team's vision, which disappointed many gamers.

Now, Hytale has been revived. Along with the resumption of development, future plans were revealed. The team will announce the Early Access release date and pricing within days, and they plan to release the full version after gathering user feedback through several years of Early Access. The initial Early Access build will feature Exploration, Creative, and Modding modes, with the previously announced Adventure and Mini-game modes to be added later.
