Netmarble's PC portal, which services titles such as Ma9Ma9 and various web-board games, has been hacked. As a result, personal information of some users and current/former employees has been leaked. However, Netmarble clarified that no resident registration numbers or sensitive information were compromised.

Netmarble announced the data breach through its PC game portal. According to the statement, the company detected signs of an external hack on the 22nd and is currently responding to the situation. Netmarble has reported the security breach to the relevant authorities and is investigating the cause and scale of the leak.

The information suspected to have been leaked includes data on PC game players, PC bang owners from before 2015, and some current and former employees. The scope identified so far includes the names, dates of birth, and passwords of Netmarble PC game users. Netmarble explained that this affects 18 PC games, including Ma9Ma9, Everybody’s Marble, Baduk, and Janggi, and that mobile games and titles accessed via the Netmarble launcher were not included. The company has recommended that PC game users change their passwords.

Furthermore, it was found that the names and email addresses of PC bang owners, as well as the names, company emails, and phone numbers of some current and former employees, were leaked. Netmarble stated that there was no leak of unique identifiers such as resident registration numbers or sensitive information. Additionally, they determined that the leaked passwords were encrypted, making them impossible to misuse with that information alone.

Netmarble stated, "We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused by this incident. We will transparently disclose the scale of the leak once the investigation by the relevant authorities is concluded." They added, "We prioritize customer protection above all else and are taking every necessary measure, including an extensive audit of our entire system to prepare for potential further intrusions and to establish measures to prevent recurrence."
