Steam’s final grand blowout of the year, the Winter Sale, is officially upon us. With the festivities running until January 5, let’s take a look at the heavy hitters dominating the charts on day one.

First, the debutants are catching eyes. Arc Raiders, which has been glued to the top spot since launch, has cemented its lead by offering its very first 20% discount. The game also kicked off a winter-themed update on the 17th, complete with a fresh reset system and new events. Meanwhile, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has finally joined the sale party, landing at 7th place. Despite launching earlier than Arc Raiders, it had stubbornly avoided discounts until now, but you can currently snag it for 25% off during the winter event.

Baldur’s Gate 3 has also made a splash, sliding into 3rd place as it goes on sale for the first time in about three months, following the Autumn Sale. It’s a perennial chart-topper whenever a discount hits, holding firm at a 25% cut. Elden Ring follows a similar pattern, climbing to 5th place; though, note that while it once hit a 40% discount, it’s currently sitting at a 35% reduction for this winter season.

The well-received Dispatch has snagged 6th place with a modest 10% discount. Given that players seem to respect its gameplay enough to pay pre-purchase prices, this slim discount hasn't dampened interest one bit. Elsewhere, the award-sweeping Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is holding onto 2nd place, maintaining the 20% discount that began in early December for its second consecutive week.
