Wargaming has rolled out update 15.1 for World of Warships, kicking off the Lunar New Year festivities.

This update is packed with a Lunar New Year event pass and a festive calendar, offering a variety of themed rewards. You can also look forward to the 'Immortal Frontline' battle mode and a fresh fleet of ships.

First up is the 'Nian's Paradox' event. You’ll need to pick a side—either the Guardians of Order or the Followers of Chaos—to tackle special combat missions. Completing these earns you 'Lunar Tokens,' with more provided each week throughout the update. These tokens act as the currency to advance the faction storyline and unlock rewards. Allocate them wisely, and you could bag up to five warships and special event containers. Opening these containers might net you the 'Nian's Treasures' crates, which hold the Tier 9 Pan-Asian battleship Yimeng, the Tier 9 Italian cruiser Messina, or the Tier 10 Pan-American aircraft carrier Independencia.

There’s more to grab via the festive calendar and the Lunar New Year event pass, which features two progression lines. If you're feeling a bit spendy, 2,500 Gold will unlock the second line, securing you the Pan-Asian commander Nian immediately. Also, anyone logging in before March 12th will receive a Lunar New Year gift set, complete with event containers, special camouflage, and Lunar New Year tokens.

We’re also getting a new battle mode, 'Immortal Frontline.' It’s an evolution of last year's 'Immortal Frontier,' now featuring improved positioning on the maps and faction-specific bases. Plus, you get to select one consumable before the skirmish begins.

As for the hardware, new ships are sailing in sequentially. In the second week, the rare Commonwealth cruiser Pioneer makes its debut. It’s a fictional take on a late 1930s British light cruiser design, packing 16 152mm main guns across three forward and one rear turret. It’s also equipped with some punchy consumables, including a low-speed smoke generator.

By the third week, we’ll see the arrival of the Tier 10 rare destroyer Châteaurenault. Originally part of the Italian Navy before being transferred to France, this one is an aggressive torpedo-focused vessel capable of dealing massive damage at close range.
