UK publisher Kwalee and indie studio Clover Bite have announced that the action-adventure Metroidvania game 'Grime II' will be released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on April 1st (local time). The game was previously confirmed for a PC release.

Grime II is the sequel to the 2021 critically acclaimed title 'Grime'. The game expands on the dark and unsettling world of its predecessor, guiding players into new territories filled with unique locations to further foster creativity. To commemorate this announcement, a new trailer has been released, showcasing the game's mysterious new lands and evolved combat and abilities.

In the world of Grime II, players become the 'Formless,' a being that steals shapes. They absorb living creatures to summon 'molds' of their forms. As you explore the new and mysterious lands of the Grime world, you will face dangers and wonders lurking at every turn. Utilize summoned molds and the surrounding environment to defeat enemies, take down powerful bosses, and explore a profound world filled with diverse cultures and characters.

The game features a 'mold' system where defeated enemies can be absorbed and turned into molds used for special attacks. These molds can be used in various ways, such as throwing enemies, firing projectiles, stunning foes, or utilizing them as summons. Additionally, it offers an 'environmental combat' system that allows players to use the surroundings to damage or defend against enemies. The 'parry and absorb' feature allows you to send out hand-tentacles to block or absorb enemy attacks, helping you learn and adopt their forms.
