The city of Busan and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (hereinafter the Agency) are now accepting applications for the '2026 New Technology (AI) Convergence Game Production Support Program' until April 13.

This initiative covers the entire lifecycle from concept to development and commercialization for up to two years. The funding has been significantly increased compared to previous support schemes, offering up to 180 million KRW per project for the first year. A midterm review will be conducted at the end of the first year, and upon passing, funding for the second year will follow.

The core focus is the practical fusion of gaming and AI. Beyond utilizing AI for tasks like basic graphic drafting or translation assistance, the program focuses on supporting the development of games where AI technology is directly implemented into core functions and mechanics.

The program is open to game companies with a headquarters or branch in Busan, including those that have committed to relocating their headquarters. Depending on the scale and nature of the project, companies may also participate in the form of a consortium.

Applications must be submitted online via e-Nara-Do-Um by 10:00 AM on April 13, and further details can be found on the official website of the Agency.

He added, "I hope this program will elevate the technical capabilities of local game companies and serve as a cornerstone for Busan to establish itself as a hub for AI game content."
