Devolver Digital announced on the 28th that it has released the second major free update for Ball×Pit, titled 'The Shadow Update', simultaneously across all platforms. This update is provided free of charge to all existing owners of the game and includes a variety of content, such as 11 new balls, two new playable characters, four passives, and new buildings.

First, 11 new balls have been added that can change the flow of the game. These new balls include features that freeze enemies in place or allow for unpredictable teleportation, broadening the range of available strategies. Additionally, a ball with the ability to distort time has been included, adding to the fun.

Among the new playable characters, 'Sneak-foot' is a deadly ninja who remains undetected by enemies even at close range. Another character, 'The Digger', is a miner with a unique combat style where balls that hit the edge of the screen do not disappear but reappear on the opposite side.

The four newly added passives also significantly expand build variety, such as the 'Steel Rapier', which increases damage based on the number of baby balls and enemies on the battlefield, and the 'Arrow of Fate', which negates incoming projectiles and fires a baby ball back when hit.
