Former Eternal Return pro player 'Seogeonam' Moon Jun-ho has issued a formal apology regarding his remarks linking League of Legends pro player 'Ruler' Park Jae-hyuk's alleged tax evasion to the prohibition of concurrent employment for social service agents.

The saga began back on April 11 following the Masters Season 10 and the subsequent retirement of 'Seogeonam' Moon Jun-ho. During his retirement announcement stream, while explaining the circumstances behind the cancellation of his concurrent employment permit as a social service agent, Moon speculated on the cause, suggesting that "an art personnel in the Chinese LoL scene was involved in a massive incident."

This was interpreted by the public as implying that Park Jae-hyuk's tax evasion controversy had cast a negative shadow over other esports titles. At the time, the fallout was significant for the Eternal Return league, as players such as Yangju Wales' 'G-Walk' Kwak Jung-won and Chungnam CNJ Esports' 'Zet' Bae Ho-young were also hit with concurrent employment prohibitions.

However, the Military Manpower Administration later clarified through an official statement that the permit cancellations for Eternal Return players had nothing to do with said tax evasion incident. A deputy spokesperson for the agency told Gamemeca: "The matter is unrelated to player Park Jae-hyuk," adding, "Concurrent employment for pro players is restricted in principle, and there have been no changes to our policy."

In response, Moon took to his Chzzk community page on the 14th to own up to his mistake, stating, "I spoke about unverified information. I would like to correct the facts and offer my sincere apologies." He continued, "It was before the facts were confirmed, and I acted recklessly by believing and spreading unverified claims." He expressed deep regret to 'Ruler' Park Jae-hyuk, his fans, and the stakeholders and fans of the Eternal Return esports scene.

Meanwhile, 'Ruler' Park Jae-hyuk continues to participate in the league as usual, following the decision on the 2nd that the LCK would impose no separate sanctions against him.
