The Gyeonggi Content Agency (GCA), in collaboration with Gyeonggi Province, hosted the '2026 Gyeonggi Esports Festival' from May 21st to 24th at KINTEX in Ilsan, Goyang City.

The Gyeonggi Esports Festival is Gyeonggi Province's premier esports celebration, welcoming participants from diverse groups including individuals with disabilities, university students, and families. This year's event featured the amateur esports tournament, the opening matches of the 2026 Korea Esports League – organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and KeSPA – and the ASL Season 21 finals, presented by SOOP. All events were broadcast live on the GCA's official YouTube channel and SOOP's channel.

The esports competition for individuals with disabilities, held on the first day of the festival, is an officially certified tournament by the Korea Federation of Disabled Esports, marking its fifth anniversary this year. A total of 71 participants competed in FC Online and League of Legends. Following this, a university campus league saw 1,206 students from 86 institutions participate in Eternal Return and Valorant.

Additionally, the special stage program featured a family tournament in Overcooked 2 and Apple Game, open to all PlayX4 visitors, attracting 287 participants over the four days.

May 23rd saw the send-off ceremony and fan event for 'Gyeonggi Innate,' Gyeonggi Province's regional esports team. The following day, May 24th, included a showcase of works selected for the GCA's esports content creation support project and an influencer exhibition match.

Tak Yong-seok, President of the GCA, stated, "The Gyeonggi Esports Festival has provided a venue for cultural enjoyment where everyone, from the culturally vulnerable to families and professional esports athletes, can partake." He added, "Gyeonggi Province will continue to offer unwavering support and attention to the esports industry and the cultural enrichment of its residents."
