Nexon's beloved national action-casual game, 'Crazy Arcade', has officially announced it is shutting down its servers.

In a notice posted on the 11th, Nexon confirmed that Crazy Arcade will cease operations on August 13th. The development team expressed their regrets, stating, "We are deeply sorry for the sudden news and the disappointment it brings. We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all the 'Cra-Arc' family members who have been with us, and we hope the long years we shared remain as cherished memories."

Launched in October 2001, Crazy Arcade has been a cornerstone of Nexon's portfolio. Alongside 'MapleStory', it was instrumental in cementing Nexon's public image. Characters like 'Dao', 'Bazzi', 'Dizni', and 'Lodumani' remain icons to this day, with Dao serving as a quintessential mascot for the company.

Following the maintenance on Thursday, June 11th, all paid items in the in-game shop will be removed. To send the game off, a final event will run from the 11th until the service termination, providing a 10x boost to in-game currency and experience points. Refund applications will be accepted from Thursday, June 11th, through Wednesday, September 16th, at 23:59 via Nexon ID login. Please note that all requests are subject to review and cannot be withdrawn once submitted.

With the lights going out on Crazy Arcade, the 'BnB' IP that once defined the golden age of Nexon effectively fades into history. The successor to 'KartRider', titled 'KartRider: Drift', suspended its service in March 2023, and 'Crazy Shooting Bubble Fighter' is set to close its doors on the 24th. With the original title now joining the list, a legacy spanning nearly 25 years finally comes to an end.

However, questions linger regarding the timing of this closure. Crazy Arcade held the 35th spot in the Gamemeca rankings for the first week of June and ranked 44th on Gametrics as of June 10th. Given its consistent presence within the top 50, many find the decision premature. Some players are speculating that a successor might be in the works, much like the case with 'KartRider'. Yet, with no official word on a sequel in the announcement, the community is left feeling rather perplexed.
