Pokémon Korea has teamed up with the Busan Transportation Corporation to host the 2026 Busan Transportation Corporation Battle Tournament. The tournament began on the 11th of this month, with regional qualifiers running across 12 designated card shops nationwide until the 26th. The grand finale is set for August 1st at Hall 2B of the BEXCO Exhibition Center 1 in Busan.

Regional qualifiers are taking place at dedicated Pokémon card shops in Yongsan, Yeoksam, Suwon, Wonju, Incheon, Gwangju, Pyeongtaek, Ulsan, Daegu, Busan, Daejeon, and Mok-dong. Participants can register online via the official Pokémon Trading Card Game website, and walk-ins are welcome on the day of the event if space remains. For those who do not qualify during the regional rounds, an additional on-site qualifier will be held on the day of the finals to award remaining spots.

The tournament format utilizes the 100 types of card decks included in the MEGA Start Deck 100 Battle Collection. Competitors will engage in strategic battles using various card combinations. All finalists will receive a double deck case as a souvenir, and the tournament winner will be awarded a trophy along with LEGO sets featuring Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise.

The venue will also feature side events for spectators. A Busan Transportation Corporation experience zone, where visitors can try a driving simulator, and a Nintendo Switch 2 Pokémon game experience zone will be available. Additionally, the event will host a Pokémon art gallery, a card game academy for beginners, mini-game zones, and a Pokémon mini-store. Further details can be found on the official tournament page.
