Kakao Games has signed a global publishing agreement for 'Guardian Maiden,' a new title currently under development by Kong Studios.

Guardian Maiden is a pixel-art collectible RPG being developed for mobile and PC. It depicts a fantasy narrative set on a massive continent where diverse races coexist, following a hero and a saint who partner up to stand against malevolent forces.

Through this publishing agreement, Kakao Games has secured the rights for domestic and global service, excluding the Greater China region. The company is preparing for an official launch within this year.

Kakao Games CEO Lee Si-woo stated, "Kong Studios is a company with a unique worldview and high-level game development capabilities," adding, "We will do our best to ensure a successful global service by creating synergy once again with Kong Studios, with whom we have collaborated for a long time."

Kong Studios CEO Seok Gwang-won said, "We are delighted to present 'Guardian Maiden,' which consolidates our development experience and know-how in pixel graphics, action combat, and the collectible RPG genre, to players around the world," and added, "As Kakao Games is a trusted partner with whom we have collaborated for a long time, we will work closely together to present a high-quality game."

A booth showcasing Guardian Maiden was operated at the Illustar Fes held last May. The event featured the first public screening of a video showcasing the game's concept, combat, and core content, along with the distribution of various merchandise.
