The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, alongside the Korea Creative Content Agency (KOCCA), joined forces with the National Institute of Special Education and the Netmarble Cultural Foundation on the 28th to appoint singer DinDin as the official ambassador for the 2026 National Disabled Student e-Festival.

In this capacity, DinDin will spearhead efforts to promote the event's core mission. The ambassador is also scheduled to attend the opening ceremony and cultural festivities in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, on September 8th, where DinDin will personally cheer on the finalists and engage with the participants.

The National Disabled Student e-Festival is a nationwide initiative designed to bolster healthy leisure activities for disabled students while sharpening their digital literacy. It is co-hosted by KOCCA, the National Institute of Special Education, and the Netmarble Cultural Foundation, with official backing from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Education.

The organizers chose DinDin to highlight the potential of these students, aiming to share their journey of self-discovery and dream-chasing within the digital landscape with the wider public.

This year's event runs from September 8th to 9th at the Sono Calm Vivaldi Park in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, under the theme 'Opening the World with AI, Infinite Possibilities'. Around 1,600 attendees, including students from special schools and classes across 17 provinces, non-disabled peers, teachers, and officials, are expected to take part.

The competition will feature 11 e-sports categories and 18 information technology contests. Students who successfully navigated the regional qualifiers—which kicked off back in May—will now face off in the final rounds to demonstrate their skills.

The venue will also host a game culture and edutech experience zone, showcasing a variety of content that integrates Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the latest digital technologies. Additionally, the programme is packed with cultural events, including performances, magic shows, and quizzes.

KOCCA President Kim Yun-ji expressed high hopes, stating, "Given DinDin's reputation for connecting with the public across various platforms, we expect this year's festival to serve as a meaningful catalyst in sharing the dreams, passion, and competitive spirit of these students with the nation. KOCCA remains committed to ensuring that all students can enjoy content without discrimination and continue to nurture their dreams through e-sports and other digital cultural avenues."
