The Korea Game Society is set to host a digital art exhibition titled 'BUFF: Powering the Imagination | Korea Game Society Art Exhibition @BIC 2026' during the Busan Indie Connect Festival 2026 (hereafter BIC 2026).

Inspired by the BIC 2026 slogan, 'BUFF YOUR INDIE SPIRIT,' the exhibition aims to illustrate how the creator's imagination converges with culture and diverse visual expressions to expand into entirely new worlds.

The curators have selected 56 pieces from the Korea Game Society x Nexon Korea & Nexon Games university student digital art contest and the Korea Game Society x Naver OGQ Market International Digital Art Invitational held between 2025 and 2026.

The works are organised into three distinct thematic zones: 'Worlds of Imagination,' 'Reinterpreting Culture,' and 'Expanding the Visual Realm.' From high fantasy and character design to modern takes on traditional culture and experimental digital techniques, the collection highlights the creative flow where gaming and art push each other's boundaries.

Professor Eun-jin Lee of Myongji College, who serves as the head of the Cultural Arts Division at the Korea Game Society, noted, "While last year's exhibition focused on the intersection of AI, games, and art, this year we shifted our attention to how a creator's imagination expands through culture and varied modes of expression." Professor Lee added, "Much like the 'BUFF' keyword at BIC, I hope this exhibition serves as a catalyst to empower the imaginations of both creators and visitors."

The Secretariat of the BIC Organizing Committee remarked, "BIC serves as a festival where creators can connect and expand their novel attempts and imaginations, with indie games at the heart of it all." The official continued, "We hope this exhibition breaks down the barriers between games, art, and culture, effectively acting as a reliable 'BUFF' for the imagination of every visitor and creator involved."
