Nexon announced the termination of service on the 12th, while outlining a final roadmap. The Kingdom of the Winds: Yeon will cease operations on February 12, 2027, with the team committed to a six-month wind-down period that includes concluding the game's story across three major updates scheduled through October.

Starting with the first update on the 13th, Nexon is stripping away all monetization. Existing paid currencies will be converted into a new asset called 'Melody'. The second update on September 10 will introduce new regions to wrap up the narrative, while the third on October 15 marks the final journey, integrating cooperative content to provide a proper send-off for the community.

In a move that softens the blow, Nexon confirmed that all payments made by users in the last six months will be fully refunded. Further details regarding the refund criteria and procedures will be shared in a follow-up announcement.

The development team stated in the notice, "Following shifts in our operational and development environment since last year, we have carefully reviewed the future direction of the game. Unfortunately, we have concluded that it is no longer possible to provide a service that meets the high expectations of our players," while expressing their gratitude and apologies.
