Pan Studio has rolled out the 1.6 version update, titled 'The 22nd White Rabbit of Paradise', for its fantasy RPG Duet Night Abyss on August 8. The update brings a fresh main storyline, brand-new exploration areas, alongside a batch of new characters and weapons. A series of quality-of-life features and diverse events have also been introduced to keep everyone happy.

The update drops a brand-new main story arc titled 'Twilight Anchorage: Chapter 2 - The 22nd White Rabbit of Paradise'. You can head over to a paradise hidden deep within mountains and lush forests to uncover buried truths and dive into the tales of fresh faces. Alongside this, the 'End of Paradise' main story and character-focused side tales such as 'Chronicle Collection: Eve' and 'Chronicle Collection: Purrsy' have been added to the mix.

To help newcomers and returning players catch up with the latest story beats without tearing their hair out, a quest pre-unlock feature is now live. As for new exploration zones, the 'Arcano Mountains' situated in the southern mountain range of Flagson Province are now open. This area was left in ruins following the war between Hyperborea and Elysium four years ago, giving you plenty of ruined corners like 'Arcano Village' and the 'Arcano Mountain Rift' to poke around.

Fresh faces joining the roster include the Fire-attribute character 'Purrsy' and the Water-attribute character 'Dream Boy/Girl'. Purrsy wields dual blades and dual pistols, and can be snagged for free via 'Commission Letters' or met in the shop. Dream Boy/Girl is unlocked by finishing the 'Lost Field' quest bundled in main story chapter two. On the weapon front, the dual blades 'Silent Roar' have been added and can be crafted for free via forging. Come August 29, the blade whip 'Holy Blood·Blade Whip' and the calamity weapon dual pistols 'Blood-Stained Feather' will join the lineup. On top of all that, the 'Devil's Wedge' and its blueprints have been introduced to let you micromanage character and weapon growth.

A slew of events is kicking off to celebrate the update. You can dive into the 'Immersive Play' event running until August 29 to steer the narrative and bag a commission letter for the new character Purrsy. The cumulative login event 'Return of the Sinner' hands out 10 'Luminous Hourglasses'. Plus, events like 'Treasure Hunting Training', 'Frozen Time', 'Harvest Day', 'Starlight Tour', and 'Starlight Chronicle' will roll out sequentially. Starting August 29, the 'Bizarre Movement' event will also hand out fresh costumes for Berenice and Psyche.

Quality-of-life tweaks have also landed to make your sessions smoother. The party lobby, auto-continuous challenge, and auto continuous fishing features are now live, alongside character extra weapon mastery and independent collaboration features for preset lineups. The camera system also got filters and depth-of-field features so you can capture your favorite moments with a bit more flair.

The maximum friend limit has been bumped up to 200, while the maximum guild level and capacity have been expanded to level 10 and 70 members respectively. Multiplayer content, the forging system, reputation system, appearance customization, and UI display methods have all been polished up, while tweaks to certain melee weapon damage multipliers and stage progression structures round out a much smoother overall experience.
