Riot Games has revealed its update plans for Season 3 Act 2 of League of Legends (hereinafter LoL) on September 9th.

The most striking addition is the official rollout of the team voice chat feature teased back in March. While voice chat was previously limited to pre-made groups, the new functionality allows players to communicate with randomly matched teammates as well. It will first roll out to North America and Oceania via the 26.20 patch scheduled for October, with a global expansion—including in South Korea—to be considered based on operational results.

Measures against toxic players are also being introduced to ensure a healthy gaming environment. Players below Honor Level 3 will be able to listen to their teammates' voices, but speaking themselves will be restricted until they meet the criteria again. In addition, a behaviour evaluation system restricting the access of malicious players will be introduced, aiming to provide proper management and penalties as the user base grows.

News regarding game mode updates was also shared. First, the classic mode is receiving various improvements based on user feedback, including lighting and map texture upgrades ▲ higher IP and XP acquisition rates ▲ two additional rune pages provided ▲ and reduced rune prices. The champion update speed will also be accelerated to introduce classic versions of Poppy, Galio, Fiora, and more.

Aram: Mayhem introduces a new system where a musical group appears at the start of the game to create various changes. Players can also encounter new augments such as ▲ 'It's a Bee!!!' which throws a beehive at enemies, and ▲ 'Here Comes Jinx' which lets you ride Jinx's rocket. In addition, the 5v5 ranked mode introduces 'Strategic Draft', allowing players to check the champions frequently used by the opposing team in ranked games.

LoL Season 3 Act 2 is scheduled to be updated in late October.
