The fifth installment of the Ace Attorney series is being developed for VR.

Amata has announced that the courtroom battle game Ace Attorney 5 VR will be released in 2027. The game is a fresh VR reimagining of the original title launched back in 2013, and it will officially support Korean.

Ace Attorney 5 kicks off with a massive explosion inside the courtroom, setting its stage in a dark age of the law where winning trials takes precedence over uncovering the actual truth. As Phoenix Wright—who returns to the defense attorney's bench after an eight-year hiatus—players must team up with Apollo Justice and rookie attorney Athena Cykes to prove their clients' innocence.

The investigation and trial phases incorporate control schemes tailored to the unique nature of VR hardware. Alongside standard controllers, hand-tracking functionality is supported, allowing players to investigate crime scenes using intuitive gestures like pinches and taps. The structure lets players examine spaces from multiple angles to gather evidence and testimonies.

Furthermore, signature systems like the Mood Matrix—which spots contradictions in emotions—and the Re-ization process that deduces the full picture of an incident have been implemented as mini-games. Users will engage in battles of wits by using hand gestures to expose witnesses' lies and cross-examine pieces of evidence.

Supported devices include Meta Quest 3S, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest Pro, Meta Quest 2, and Meta Quest. The provided languages span seven options: Korean, Japanese, English, French, German, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese.
