Look, let's be honest—Nexon Games' upcoming action title, Project DW, already grabbed plenty of attention just by putting the legendary Taoist wizard Jeon Woo-chi front and centre. Yet, with the character's facial features kept tightly under wraps, chatter has reached fever pitch now that news has broken that the lead actor has officially been locked in.
On October 7, Nexon Games dropped a development update over on the official YouTube channel community tab. The crew headed over to Los Angeles back in August to run scanning sessions at 3Lateral. This facility happens to be Epic Games' dedicated 4D digital human scanning studio, supplying meta-human-based character creation tech to a slew of games. Meta-humans are basically characters brought to life via Epic Games' cloud-based digital human tech. Art Director Mok Young-mi alongside the development crew at Roarbolt (a studio under Nexon Games) hopped on-site to handle the directing duties.
The actor stepping into the shoes of the protagonist, Jeon Woo-chi, is officially sorted. The snap shared alongside this latest update shows the back of the actor caught mid-scan. Naturally, the face remains completely hidden, leaving everyone guessing. Nexon Games added that the identity of the actor will be revealed down the line, playing right into the cheeky hype.

We have certainly seen our fair share of comic books, flicks, and game characters tackling the Jeon Woo-chi legend over the years. Back in the 2009 film Woochi: The Demon Slayer, Kang Dong-won famously took on the titular role and turned plenty of heads. Naturally, everyone is wondering what kind of actor will be pulling off the wizardry in Project DW.
Project DW is an upcoming single-player action-adventure PC and console game currently cooking at Nexon Games. Set in a fictional Joseon dynasty, it follows the escapades of the Taoist wizard Jeon Woo-chi, spinning an original yarn inspired by the Tale of Jeon Woo-chi while rolling out a Joseon fantasy world powered by Unreal Engine 5. Expect to face off against Korean traditional yokai reinterpreted by the development team while unleashing the fluid magic of the protagonist.
