Nuverse, a gaming subsidiary under ByteDance, has announced that its cross-platform action RPG 'CoA: Crystal of Atlan' will kick off a collaboration with the TV anime 'Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex' on August 28.

'Ghost in the Shell' originates from Masamune Shirow's 1989 manga 'The Ghost in the Shell'. The specific subject of this collaboration, 'Ghost in Public Security' Stand Alone Complex, is a TV anime broadcast in 2002 that portrays the activities of Public Security Section 9, set in the year 2030 where information networks and cybernetic body technologies have heavily evolved.

The collaboration story begins when Public Security Section 9 detects an unidentified anomaly signal in Atlan. As Section 9 tracks the signal, special combat zones reflecting their tactical style emerge, unfolding a narrative where a world of highly developed electronic networks and cybernetic technologies intersects with Atlan.

This worldview is also reflected in the collaboration dungeon 'Mock Combat Area'. The dungeon operates as a minigame where four users each pilot a 'Tachikoma'. Users can shoot other users or monsters to collect 'Ultimate Cogs' to upgrade their Tachikomas. If defeated by another user, some of the held 'Ultimate Cogs' are dropped, and players earn items such as 'Special Prosthetics' and 'Neural Chips' based on their final ranking. Alongside this, events such as the clue-unlocking 'Abyss of Memories' and 'Tactical Consultation', where players use 'Neural Chips' to level up and receive rewards, will also take place.

Limited-edition pets and mounts will appear during the collaboration period. 'Motoko Kusanagi', a character from 'Ghost in the Shell SAC', will be added in pet form, and the multi-legged tank 'Tachikoma' will appear as a mount. The Tachikoma mount comes with five different paint jobs so users can customise its appearance.

During the event period, users can participate in various contents such as the 'Journey's Recollection' puzzle and challenging the boss 'Pumpkin Great Demon King'. Additionally, users can find hidden pumpkins to unlock hidden achievements or collect 'Midnight Candies' to exchange for rewards. Completing the 'Amazing Land' main story will sequentially unlock event missions, and upon completing the missions, players can acquire the limited-time head ornament 'Pumpkin Head'.

'CoA: Crystal of Atlan' is an arcanepunk action RPG set in Atlan, a world where magic and machinery coexist, where players become members of the Thornbird Adventurer Guild to explore Atlan and enjoy various combat and progression content. Alongside this collaboration, the character level cap will be expanded to 80, and a new adventure chapter 'Anthem of Salvation', a new map 'Ice Canyon Cathedral', and new equipment will be added.
