Pico Park: Classic Edition, which was temporarily available for free on Steam, has officially transitioned to a permanent free-to-play model.

Pico Park: Classic Edition serves as the original launch version of the infamous 'friendship-destroying' title, Pico Park. Apart from the lack of online multiplayer, it is virtually identical to the first game in terms of content. The developer had initially planned an online multiplayer update, and as a precursor, the game was offered for free for a week starting September 13.

However, the game failed to revert to its paid status once that week concluded. Addressing the situation on the 5th, the developer confessed via a Steam announcement, "I wasn't aware that once a game is switched to free on Steam, it cannot be reverted to paid." They went on to confirm, "I have decided to make the game permanently free." With a cheeky sign-off, they added, "I hope you enjoy the free version, and please consider checking out the first and second installments of Pico Park."

The community's response has been rather spirited, with users noting, "So it wasn't just a temporary 100% discount, they actually made it free," "The developer must be shedding real tears," and "Honestly, their lighthearted reaction makes me want to buy the main titles just to support them."
