In the relentless deluge of new releases hitting Steam every single day, Valve has finally decided to offer us a 'Custom Calendar' to keep our gaming lives in check.

Valve announced on the 22nd via an official post that a new 'Custom Calendar' feature has arrived in Steam Labs. It’s designed to curate upcoming and new releases, tailored specifically to your unique tastes.

The system pulls data from your playtime, preferred genres, and wishlist to predict what might tickle your fancy. Crucially, Valve has weighted this algorithm to favour games where you’ve actually invested significant time, effectively filtering out the 'noise' from fleeting demos or games you only played for a short time.

This system refreshes daily, ditching the old, clunky lists of 'everything coming soon' for a clean interface displaying logos and release dates. Just don't be surprised if some days look a bit empty.

The calendar makes sure your wishlisted games are front and centre, regardless of what the algorithm thinks. Note that it only updates on weekdays, so weekend releases will conveniently appear on the following Monday. You can also play around with tag filters and hide games you already own to keep things tidy.

Valve noted that they plan to introduce weekly and monthly views for already released titles, though they’re keeping an open mind for player feedback to tweak the experience as they go.
