The Korea AI Smart Sports Future Forum announced that it will host its inaugural policy seminar during G-STAR 2025. This event is set to flesh out the state agenda of 'establishing an eSports Promotion Foundation and eSports Museum,' while discussing plans to integrate AI-driven smart sports into public education.

The seminar will be held on November 15 at the BEXCO Convention Hall in Busan under the theme of 'Standardizing eSports Education and Teacher Training in the AI Era.' The forum aims to focus on developing policy alternatives to integrate AI-powered smart sports and eSports education into the public school system and foster the related industry ecosystem.

Jeon Je-cheol, co-representative of the forum and president-elect of Busan National University of Education, emphasized that AI-based smart sports will play a key role not only in improving students' health but also in bridging the digital divide and fostering creative talent. He expressed his commitment to mobilizing academic resources to successfully realize the presidential state agenda in educational settings.

Lee Jae-sung, another co-representative and former chairman of the Democratic Party's Busan branch, mentioned that smart sports, which combine AI and education, will serve as a core foundation for Busan to leap forward as a global leader in marine, shipbuilding, and defense AI. Emphasizing that talent development is the key to becoming one of the world's top three AI powerhouses, he argued that this G-STAR seminar would serve as a practical starting point for implementing the government's state agenda.

Starting with this inaugural seminar, the Korea AI Smart Sports Future Forum plans to pursue policy research for the standardization of AI smart sports education and the establishment of the eSports Promotion Foundation and museum. It also intends to proceed with drafting legislation and building cooperation systems with the government and local municipalities. Meanwhile, co-representative Lee Jae-sung has recently announced his bid for Busan Mayor, continuing his regional development efforts with the ambition of growing Busan into a southern gateway for the AI and eSports industries.
