Wuthering Waves hit a new peak in concurrent players on Steam this past 25th, following the release of its 3.0 update.

The core of this 3.0 update is the new region, 'Lahaï-Loy'. Tucked away as an underground oasis beneath the Roya Icefields, it sets the stage for the third chapter of the main story quests, centered around the Statoch Academy. Alongside the new area, a new 5-star Resonator, 'Linne', has been added, with the limited 5-star 'Monier' arriving in the second half of the update.

To help players traverse the sprawling map with more ease, a new vehicle, the 'Bike', has been added. Players can ride it to explore the landscape, zip across open roads, or perform stunts using the terrain. Additionally, the developers have enabled looting while riding to improve exploration convenience.

Combat also receives a shake-up with the new 'Dissonance Attack' mechanic. Once a special gauge is filled by landing hits, players can unleash this skill to leave foes in a dazed state. Some characters even trigger a unique 'Breakaway' effect during these attacks.

The update has drawn back veterans and newcomers alike, pushing the daily peak of concurrent players from the usual 10,000 range to 40,721 on the 25th. Including mobile users, the actual number of concurrent players is likely much higher. Steam reviews are currently 'Very Positive' (365 participants, 85% positive), with fans praising the combat, narrative, and map design, though some have pointed out issues with optimization and controls.

Elsewhere on the Steam global top sellers, discounted titles continue to dominate. 'Dispatch' has climbed to 3rd place, while Baldur's Gate 3 has dropped to 4th. Path of Exile 2, which had entered the rankings following its Druid update, has dropped out, while Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree sits at 10th.

In the daily peak concurrent players top 20, Path of Exile 2 saw a slight dip to 128,970 players. While titles like Warframe, Battlefield 6, and Where Winds Meet saw their numbers dwindle, War Thunder bucked the trend, climbing to 15th with 107,379 players.
