On the 23rd, Nexon officially announced that they have launched an internal investigation and are preparing to request a formal police inquiry into the suspected leak. The controversy centres on the 'Big Campfire Showcase' held on the 19th, where granular details regarding the upcoming Season 2 update were initially unveiled.

The issue bubbled to the surface after various online forums began circulating screenshots of messenger logs. According to these images, sensitive information regarding the showcase had already been circulating as early as June. Once the actual showcase concluded, the spread of this leaked data across multiple communities escalated the situation significantly.

In response, Nexon has adopted a stern stance, vowing to review all relevant logs to establish the facts and hold those responsible accountable for any illegal activities. According to their statement, the publisher is meticulously tracking access logs and distribution channels, considering the possibility that unreleased data was leaked to specific individuals or external communities.

Alongside their internal fact-finding mission, they are navigating the administrative hurdles required to hand the case over to judicial authorities. Staying consistent with their established policy on leaks, Nexon remains firm: if these illicit information-sharing activities are proven, there will be no exceptions to their zero-tolerance disciplinary approach.

The Mabinogi Mobile development team remarked, "We sincerely apologise to our adventurers for the deep concern caused by these suspected leaks of unconfirmed information," adding, "We will do our utmost to ensure that such an incident never occurs again."

Meanwhile, it is worth noting that just last week on the 15th, Nexon took action against a leaker and an agency involved in the 'MapleStory' 2025 Winter Showcase, resulting in a penalty of 50 million won in damages and a permanent termination of their business partnership. This follows previous precedents, such as the 2024 showcase leak where they secured a 100 million won damages ruling, reinforcing their uncompromising policy regarding showcase leaks.
