According to these leaks, Afterworld is very much a grand strategy title. Set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, the game reportedly tasks players with leading a tribe of survivors, researching forgotten ancient technologies, establishing settlements across the wasteland, and engaging in political struggles as well as military conflicts against hostile factions.

Paradox Interactive, a Swedish-headquartered game developer and publisher, has previously delivered a multitude of grand strategy titles featuring complex strategic systems and sprawling universes, such as the Europa Universalis series, Crusader Kings series, and Stellaris.
