Look, let's be honest, CD Projekt Red dropped a massive bomb at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 26, announcing that The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered will launch on September 29. The developer also treated everyone to a brand new expansion trailer for Songs of the Past.

Through the announcement trailer, The Witcher 3 Remastered showcased a ton of upgrades and improvements spanning visual effects, performance, and gameplay. Players can look forward to enhanced visuals, revamped combat, smoother movement and exploration, improved Witcher sign effects, a reworked mount handling feel, enhanced monster behavior patterns, a redesigned skill tree, transmog, an expanded photo mode, and fresh finishing moves.

The remaster is heading to PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on September 29, and pre-orders are live right now. Existing owners get a free upgrade, while Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine are also available for free starting August 26.

Next up, a teaser for the new DLC Songs of the Past was revealed. The new region 'Letten' is dripping with rustic traditions and folklore, where locals live satisfying lives enjoying bountiful harvests and lavish festivals. Yet, a dark secret lurks beneath the surface. Geralt must fight to overcome an evil that has laid dormant for ages, dispatching foes never seen before along the way. Songs of the Past releases in 2027 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.

In addition, through a partnership with Blizzard Entertainment, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered and Songs of the Past are coming to Battle.net. Grabbing the expansion on Battle.net nets you a special Geralt-inspired Diablo 4 skin. CD Projekt Red will share more details when the studio attends BlizzCon in September.
