Harthstone is welcoming its first brand-new class in six years: the Monk. The Pandaren representing this addition was proudly revealed at BlizzCon.

Blizzard dropped a bunch of fresh Hearthstone details during the BlizzCon 2026 opening ceremony on September 13. First off, the new Monk class is scheduled to arrive next March. Footage shown at the venue gives a proper look at a Pandaren freely wielding various powers. The Monk boasts a flexible playstyle and remarkable adaptability, letting players pull off massive, game-winning combos when it counts the most.

Moving along, the new expansion titled 'Domination of the Black Empire' launches on October 21. Set in a classic era of Azeroth when the Old Gods were at the absolute peak of their power, it introduces a brand-new 'Combine' keyword that fuses two cards into a single, formidable entity. Before that drops, a new 'Mutant' minion tribe hits Battlegrounds on September 23. Lore-wise, these creatures were born from the corrupting influence of the Old Gods, built entirely around card-discard synergies.

To wrap things up, the developers are rolling out a 'Journal' that ties every single expansion together. Debuting alongside the aforementioned 'Domination of the Black Empire' expansion, it gathers all past quests, achievements, and events into one neat location. As the journey continues, the Journal grows right along with it, connecting past plays into a unified history. They also teased a 2v2 team-up Tavern Brawl where players can team up with a mate.
