On 28, Kakao Games announced the early closure of the pre-character name reservation event for its new MMORPG, 'World of Dokkaebi', developed by Supercat.

The World of Dokkaebi character name reservation event kicked off at 8 PM on September 22. The first round of character name reservations sold out in about an hour, and the second round, which started at 11 AM on September 23, wrapped up in roughly five hours.

Pre-registrations will remain open until the official launch. You can sign up via the official Kakao Games page, Google Play, and Apple App Store. Participants can choose one of four 'Gat' (traditional Korean hat) in-game costumes, and stand a chance to win prizes like a 24K pure gold Dokkaebi club (3 don) through friend invitation events.

World of Dokkaebi is an MMORPG built on the intellectual property of the Naver web novel and webtoon 'Myeolgwisu Dojeon'. It blends 2D pixel art characters with 3D environments to deliver a retro vibe alongside a dimensional sense of space, crafting a unique universe infused with traditional Korean aesthetics.

A live demonstration for World of Dokkaebi was held on September 18. Supercat Producer Park Sung-jun, Director Jang Su-min, and Kakao Games Business Division Head Cha Myung-soo took the stage to demo World of Dokkaebi and field real-time Q&A sessions based on pre-submitted user questions.

During the showcase, the development team revealed that character outfits and mounts in World of Dokkaebi will not carry stat bonuses, while also detailing the utility of the in-game currency 'Geumjeon' earned through gameplay and economic systems. Responding directly to user feedback, the membership duration has been extended from the initial 28 days to 30 days.
