NCSOFT has rolled out a fresh update titled 'Golden Desert Abella' for Lineage Remastered, which the developer simply calls Lineage. Bearing the rather grand subtitle of a 'radiantly shining golden age', this update packs quite a punch with a brand-new class, a sprawling territory, and dedicated specialized servers.

First up is the 13th class to join the roster: the Crescent Assassin. Wielding a signature weapon known as the chakram and boasting supreme agility, the Crescent Assassin operates as a ranged assassination specialist. Rather than sticking to standard distance-based skirmishes, the character seamlessly glides in, evades, chases, and disengages, letting the player dictate the engagement range entirely.

The real trick here is the Dual Action System. This mechanic splits a single skill into a primary main skill and a secondary sub-skill, leaving the exact timing of the secondary trigger entirely in the hands of the player. Tools like 'Arc Shift', which shifts position twice in quick succession, and 'Moon Snare', which lays traps for custom-timed detonations, mean that even identical skills yield wildly different tactical options depending on the sequence and timing.

Alongside the class comes Abella, the brand-new territory serving as the narrative backdrop. Players can pick their hunting grounds based on what they need, whether that is the growth-buff heavy 'Twilight Mountain Range', the survival-focused 'Forest of Illusions', the time-limited dungeon 'Underground Waterway of the Tower of Insolence', or the progressive reward dungeon 'Tamas Temple'. Collecting three distinct types of sacred stones from these regions lets players craft the 'Abella's Premium Treasure Pouch', which drops legendary-grade grinding tomes and mythical magic grinding books.

A specialized server aptly named Abella is also swinging its doors open. By capping growth at level 99 and placing restrictions on select systems, the developer has smoothed out those pesky early-game progression gaps. Aiming for a level 96 milestone within roughly two months, the server hands out extra experience point perks, and event gear can be permanently converted using 'Medals of Valor'.

The 'Abella Episode Coupon' is up for grabs across servers until maintenance kicks off on December 16. Everyone logging in gets the 'Abella's Elixir Cube', which doles out a grand total of 1,000 Elixirs (EXP) over 60 days starting from the moment of use, alongside materials to craft the 'Secret Arts of Crescent Assassin Growth'. Main and specialized servers score a 'Class Change Coin', while the new Abella specialized server rewards players with milestone goodies including up to six completed elixirs.

Later in the final quarter of this year, the classic Infinite Battlegrounds will expand into an inter-server mode known as Fierce Infinite Battlegrounds. Pitting 30 split servers against one another in a three-round time-attack format, the mode dishes out legendary weapons and skill books by stage, while the server that downs the final boss walks away with an exclusive special buff.

The 'Character Gifting' system, previously limited, is now shifting to a permanent service allowing characters of level 90 and above to make use of it once a month. The developer is also handing out a record-breaking 12 'Signature Restoration Coupons', with gauntlets newly added to the restoration lineup, alongside live care services and an 'ALL Class Change' event.
