Kakao Games has officially launched the new MMORPG 'World of Dokkaebi', developed by Supercat and serviced by the publisher, on August 8.

'World of Dokkaebi' is an MMORPG developed based on the Naver web novel and webtoon intellectual property 'Myeolgwisudojon'. By combining 2D dot characters with 3D backgrounds, it delivers a retro aesthetic alongside a stereoscopic spatial depth, completing a unique universe through dot art imbued with traditional Korean sentiment.

Players forge their own combat style by combining 12 skill styles without being bound to fixed classes. These skill styles are divided into four categories: frontal firepower, distance and flow, variables and control, and allies and front-line protection. Equipping three skills of the same style activates 'New Style Unlocking', triggering independent mechanics or ultimate skill enhancement effects.

Player killing is completely excluded from standard fields, allowing servers to function as venues for cooperation rather than conflict. Field boss rewards increase in total as more users participate. Guild content to be enjoyed alongside guild mates is also available, proceeding in a way where guild members assign roles to restore altars or subjugate powerful monsters to accumulate contribution points.

While there is a competitive content called 'Battlefield of Falling Blossoms' where three servers clash on a two-week rotation, this too encourages cooperation among users within the same server. Rewards grow larger when top-tier users protect allies, and points can be accumulated through slaying evil spirits or contributing to target outposts to raise ranks, allowing even users who dislike PvP to join in.

Kakao Games is hosting various in-game events to celebrate the official launch of 'World of Dokkaebi'. The special attendance event running until August 28 offers daily login rewards alongside a 'Hero Blessing Selection Chest' as the final reward. Alongside this, drops events are underway on Chzzk and SOOP, gifting coupons usable in-game to users who watch broadcasts related to 'World of Dokkaebi' for a set amount of time.

Convenience features are also provided. Players can obtain gameplay tips or easily organize guild activity data through the in-game AI chatbot 'Myorong'. Furthermore, characters can be registered as avatars within the guild to have them perform content on the player's behalf, alongside an offline mode supporting up to eight hours of automated hunting per day.

Myeongsoo Cha, Head of the Business Division at Kakao Games, stated, "While preparing for 'World of Dokkaebi', we took a lot of user feedback into account and reflected it." Cha added, "Even after the official launch, we will continuously listen to various opinions felt during actual play and reflect them in the service to build a game that can be enjoyed for a long time."

Launch-celebration promotions are also underway. Google Play Games is hosting a discount promotion, alongside Google Play Points boosters and Kakao Pay point-back events. Depending on each promotion's conditions, users can receive Google Play Points accruals and Kakao Pay point-back benefits.
