H2 Interactive has launched the rhythm roguelike action title 'Ratatan' into Early Access on PC as of the 19th, complete with Korean language support.

For the uninitiated, Ratatan is the spiritual successor to the 2007 cult classic 'Patapon' series. It is crafted by the original creator Hiroyuki Kotani and Tokyo Virtual Theory, masterfully blending musical rhythm mechanics with side-scrolling action. You step into the role of a 'Ratatan', playing instruments and issuing commands to your 'Cobun' units, dancing your way through foes to level up.

The journey begins at 'Rataport', your base of operations, where you set off on an odyssey toward paradise. Your loyal companions, the 'Cobun', are curious creatures mirroring the appearance of their leaders, fighting by your side throughout the adventure. By injecting roguelike elements into the core rhythm-action loop, the developer ensures that every run offers unique upgrades and rewards for both you and your Cobun.

If you fancy a bit of company, the game supports co-op multiplayer for up to four players. By inputting commands with precision, you can trigger 'Fever Mode'. Once engaged, the BGM shifts, and your characters unleash a more frantic, energetic style of combat.

As of the 19th, the title is enjoying a 'Very Positive' reception on Steam with an 89% approval rating. Players are singing its praises, calling it "the perfect marriage of roguelike and Patapon," with many noting they "lost track of time" playing it.
