Nexon and its subsidiary Embark Studios have rolled out 'North Line,' the first major content update for their PvPvE extraction adventure, ARC Raiders.

The update introduces a variety of new ARCs, gadgets, and weapons, alongside a community-driven global event that will gradually unlock the new 'Stellar Montis' map.

First, two new ARCs have been revealed: the 'Matriarch,' a towering beast with a distinctive horned head teased in earlier footage, and the 'Shredder,' which appears exclusively in the new map. Additionally, five new gadgets have been added, including tracking grenades that home in on nearby ARCs, pulse and gas mines that push back approaching targets, and the 'Deadline,' which deals massive damage when the timer expires. A new legendary weapon, the 'Aphelion,' is also set to be introduced.

Alongside this, the 'Pioneering New Lands' global community event has begun, tied to the opening of the Stellar Montis map. Players participate as members of Speranza in a project to rebuild the collapsed tunnels leading to Stellar Montis. By donating basic resources such as metal parts, fabric, and rubber, players can earn 'Merits.' Once the Stellar Montis map is released, a personal progression track will be activated, allowing players to complete challenges and use Merits to acquire various cosmetic items.

Stellar Montis is a secluded research facility located deep in the mountains, an unknown region preserved while cut off from the outside world. It holds clues and secrets to reclaiming the surface, as well as various rare resources, technology, and weapon blueprints.

A duo-matchmaking system, which many players have requested, has also been introduced as a pilot feature. The developers plan to gradually improve the system to support 2-player matchmaking alongside the existing solo and 3-player queues. Furthermore, convenience has been improved by lowering the overall prices of cosmetic items and refining the Raider Deck components.

Embark Studios plans to introduce the 'Cold Snap' update, the 'Flickering Flame' event, and blizzard weather conditions in December.
