Pearl Abyss has handed over 100 million won to 'Médecins Sans Frontières' (Doctors Without Borders), following a global in-game charity event involving players of Black Desert and Black Desert Mobile.

The initiative operated on a simple premise: once players hit specific in-game donation targets, Pearl Abyss would match the contribution. This has become a staple of their December calendar, a tradition they have upheld every year since 2019.

The funds are earmarked for critical medical support in Sudan, specifically targeting disease outbreaks, the treatment of malnutrition, and the provision of emergency medical services.

Kim Se-mi, head of HR and Culture at Pearl Abyss, noted, "It is truly meaningful to share this warmth with our adventurers every year and provide aid to regions in medical blind spots," adding, "I am sincerely grateful to every adventurer who actively participated in this event."

Shin Jung-hwa, Director of Fundraising at Médecins Sans Frontières, remarked, "This donation will be a massive boost to our efforts to save lives in regions with limited access to healthcare, such as Sudan," and concluded, "We are deeply thankful for this valuable contribution, made possible through the collaboration between the company and its gaming community."
