Even as Palworld continues to expand its footprint with offline TCG announcements despite Nintendo's ongoing lawsuit, a new mobile game has emerged that feels awfully familiar. From the title to the creature designs, it is hard not to draw immediate parallels to Palworld's iconic companions.

The company behind this local release is Lilith Games, the Chinese publisher already well-versed in the Korean market thanks to titles like Rise of Kingdoms and AFK Journey. Lilith Games is set to drop the mobile title 'Palmon: Survival' on January 20th and is currently accepting pre-registrations.

Taking a closer look, the gameplay loop seems to blend the classic farm management tropes common in mobile gaming with a collection mechanic. You capture these 'Palmon' and put them to work on your farm, harvesting crops, gathering resources, and heading out on expeditions. There is also a camp-building element thrown into the mix.

You cannot help but notice the striking resemblance some of these creatures share with those from Palworld. Images posted on their official global X account feature a creature that looks suspiciously like 'Chillet'—one of Palworld's fan favourites. Between the design language and the name 'Palmon' itself, it is easy to see how a casual observer might mistake this for a mobile port of Palworld.

Whether Palmon: Survival proves to be just another cheap knock-off or manages to carve out its own identity when it opens on the 20th remains to be seen. We shall see if it has any substance under the hood.
