A new mode called 'Spiral Tower of Screams' has been added, allowing players to ascend through 50 floors using their existing save data.

Smilegate announced on the 15th that they have updated Chaos Zero Nightmare with the new 'Spiral Tower of Screams.' This update includes the new tower, as well as new combatants, partners, event content, and system improvements. The new content is designed to be played using existing save data.

The 'Spiral Tower of Screams' is a 50-floor beta version of the content. Players must assemble a team of three combatants to battle through each floor. Clearing floors rewards players with Crystals, Combat Memory, Tactical Certificates, and various growth items in a stage-by-stage combat format.

The new combatant 'Narja' and partner 'Gaya' have also been added. Narja is an Instinct-attribute controller combatant with abilities that provide self-healing and damage amplification through unique buffs. Gaya increases damage efficiency based on the combatant's defensive stats. Along with these new additions, Trauma Codes for 'Narja' and the existing combatant 'Luke' have been introduced.

System improvements for user convenience have also been implemented. A feature to skip story segments even during the first viewing has been added, and the Simulation Wave system has been changed to allow players to manually select their reward multiplier. Improvements to the Chaos Waypoint loot settlement, a special lobby for new combatants, and UI/UX refinements are also included.

Meanwhile, Smilegate is hosting events in conjunction with the update. Players can look forward to the 'Guardian of the Ark' event from January 28th to February 11th, and the 'Emergency Rescue Protocol' event, which runs until February 25th.
