The 'Sonic' series began with the release of the game software 'Sonic the Hedgehog' in 1991. Since then, titles in the series have been released on various platforms, surpassing 1.77 billion in cumulative sales. This figure includes both full games and free-to-play (F2P) titles.

Sonic is expanding its influence across the entire entertainment spectrum, including movies, animation, and music, beyond just games. The live-action film 'Sonic the Hedgehog 3' was released on January 1st last year, and its successor, 'Sonic the Hedgehog 4', is scheduled for release in 2027.
