Netmarble has released the first director’s commentary video for 'Game of Thrones: Kingsroad', an upcoming action-adventure RPG developed by Netmarble Neo, ahead of its release in Asia.

Set during the events of the fourth season of HBO’s critically acclaimed 'Game of Thrones' series, this open-world action RPG aims to bring the world of Westeros to life. The developers have focused on high-fidelity implementation of the original world and its characters to provide a deeply immersive experience.

The footage highlights a combat system that emphasizes manual control and realistic boss encounters. Players can negate enemy attacks through dodging and blocking, and counter-attack with parries, offering a tactile combat experience. The game also features a real-time weapon-swapping system, allowing players to switch between two weapon types during battle.

The game also features classes inspired by the original series. There are three types: the 'Mercenary', inspired by Tormund Giantsbane and The Mountain; the 'Knight', based on the Kingsguard and the knights of Westeros; and the 'Assassin', modeled after the Faceless Men.

In addition, the game recreates the continent of Westeros through an open world featuring iconic locations such as Castle Black, Winterfell, and King’s Landing, along with main quests enhanced by full voice acting and cinematic direction. Famous characters from the original series, including Jon Snow, Ramsay Bolton, and Cersei Lannister, also appear.

The game also supports multiplayer content, including four-player dungeons, cooperative battles against world bosses like Daenerys’ dragon, Drogon, and raids.
