Netmarble has taken a commendable step by implementing accessibility features for visually impaired and low-vision players in The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, all sparked by a heartfelt letter from a visually impaired fan in Japan.

Back in April, Netmarble received a letter written in both Braille and Word format. The player shared their experience, stating, "Thanks to the full voice acting, BGM, the sound of footsteps when descending ledges, and realistic ambient sounds like insects and water, I could enjoy the world through my ears alone, which brought me great joy."

However, they didn't just stop at praise; they offered some constructive feedback. "I struggle with identifying item locations or setting navigation directions in such a vast open world," they noted. "If features that guide distance and direction to objects via sound were added, it would make the gameplay far more immersive."

Taking this feedback to heart, the development team for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin introduced a 'Sound Class for the Visually Impaired' feature. When toggled on, this provides audio alerts for monster attacks and low health status, while adding specific sound effects to help players pinpoint the location of treasure chests.

They also plan to map key objects to keyboard number keys and implement a system where a button press triggers audio or haptic notifications indicating the direction and location of the nearest object.

A Netmarble spokesperson remarked, "Our goal is to listen to the sincere voices of our players and create an environment where everyone can enjoy our games without barriers. We will continue to improve our game's polish and accessibility based on player feedback."
