The Korea Game Users Association (hereinafter referred to as the Association) held its 2nd Regular General Meeting on May 30th. Key agenda items were processed, including the approval of amendments to the articles of incorporation, the election of the president and auditors, and the election of four new directors, including the vice-president, along with a report on the progress of establishing a corporation.

First, an amendment to the articles of incorporation was approved, which newly reorganizes the internal headquarters structure, including the Game Culture Enjoyment Rights Headquarters. This reflects the Association's intention to expand its scope of activities beyond focusing on consumer rights protection and anti-censorship movements to include improving the perception of game culture and user-led campaigns, mirroring its organizational structure.

Following this, Chairman Lee Cheol-woo was re-elected for his second term. Chairman Lee stated, "As this is my final term, with term limits stipulated in the articles of incorporation, I will definitely complete the transition to a non-profit corporation," adding, "From now on, we will expand our scope of activities beyond consumer rights protection to include user-led campaigns for improving the perception of game culture."

Mr. Noh Kyung-hoon, who has served as a director since the inaugural general meeting, was elected as the vice-president. He remarked, "I will not forget the initial resolve built over three years and will work to create a dynamic association by assisting the chairman." Four new directors were also decided, along with the auditors.

Since its establishment, the Association has undertaken various activities over approximately three years, including: ▲ the fight against the introduction of the 'Gaming Disorder' disease code, ▲ facilitating the reclassification of Mabinogi Mobile's Wekka auction house as unavailable for minors, ▲ a truck protest in front of the Fair Trade Commission concerning suspicions of 'Lineage' super accounts, ▲ inducing full refunds for Maple Kusigi, ▲ the downward adjustment of the 'Balatro' rating, and ▲ a campaign to abolish restrictions on esports concurrent employment for social service personnel. At the general meeting, Chairman Lee reported on these achievements, stating, "While the past two-plus years were focused on consumer activism, the future will be a turning point for expanding our activities into improving the perception of game culture."

A report was also given on the progress of the transition to a non-profit corporation. The Association is prioritizing this initiative with the current executive board and will immediately proceed with user perception surveys related to the AI transformation in the game industry. Furthermore, plans are in place to combine cultural and social activities such as user-led blood drives and volunteer work, awards for user-friendly games, and evaluations of game-related laws, with consumer protection efforts.

The general meeting also featured congratulatory speeches from various figures. Kim Sung-hoe, who runs the YouTube channel 'Kim Sung-hoe's G-Baekgwa' with 940,000 subscribers, stated, "I sincerely congratulate the Association on its regular general meeting, having worked together on various activities such as the constitutional appeal against game censorship, the normalization of Balatro's rating, and full refunds for Maple Kusigi." Lee Do-kyung, Secretary-General of the Youth Foundation, commented, "It has established itself as the most trustworthy organization among those advocating for gamers' rights, and we have high expectations for its future role."
