Netmarble is gearing up for the 10th anniversary of 'Lineage 2 Revolution', unveiling a fresh server and laying out their vision for what lies ahead.

Netmarble has dropped a developer commentary video, making a concerted effort to touch base with their player base. Released on the 22nd, the video details the 'Papurion' server update and sets the stage for the game's upcoming 10th-anniversary milestone. The commentary features Netmarble Neo's Executive Producer Jeon Tae-hyun, Planning Team Lead Ko Young-min, and popular influencer Susam, all sat down to chat about the state of the game.

First up, the team announced the new 'Papurion' world raid, hitting the servers this June. Executive Producer Jeon Tae-hyun introduced the raid boss—the very namesake of the new server—emphasising the core appeal of the encounter. Staying true to its water-dragon theme, the battle takes place in a submerged environment, complete with massive splashes triggered by the boss's movements. You’ll need to calculate the impact of these water mechanics to survive, with the 'underwater barrier' gimmick adding a layer of tension to every scrap.

The team is also shaking up the game’s core: the clan system. They are introducing the 'Clan Boost World' server, specifically designed to incentivise group play. Expect a flurry of benefits for joining up, including Red Diamond payback events based on clan levels and participation, as well as new co-op play events meant to keep you and your clanmates working in lockstep.

To mark the launch of the new server, there is a plethora of events on the cards. The 'Papurion' server will dish out rewards worth a cool 1,000,000 Won, including pre-registration bonuses and a free seasonal pass. Plus, with up to 150,000 Red Diamonds and a concurrent payback event, the team is clearly looking to accelerate player progression.

Moving away from the dry, text-heavy developer notes of the past, this video format relies on player-submitted surveys to drive the conversation. Executive Producer Jeon Tae-hyun outlined plans to overhaul existing content, tweak difficulty curves, and give PvP battlefields a much-needed polish.
